							Obituary 
							 
							Norma Evelyn Park Muck was born in Mt. Pulaski, 
							Illinois on April 11, 1921 the third child of 
							Augusta and Arthur Park. Norma’s parents and 
							siblings, Harold Park and Rachel Park Wiggers, 
							preceded her in death. Her grandparents, David and 
							Delilah Shellhammer, were among the earliest 
							settlers in Logan County. Norma was also a 
							descendant of John Robert Downing, one of the six 
							Revolutionary War soldiers from Logan County, and 
							John Downing who served in the War of 1812. 
							 
							Norma spent her childhood in Mount Pulaski and 
							attended Mount Pulaski High School. She first 
							studied at Stephens College in Columbia, MO and then 
							attended and graduated from the University of 
							Illinois with a Bachelor of Science. On January 26, 
							1944, she married Norman Harding Muck, who she met 
							in Columbia, MO. They married in San Diego, CA where 
							Norman was stationed in the Navy during World War 
							II, prior to being assigned to the Pacific Theatre. 
							Norman and Norma celebrated their 70th wedding 
							anniversary in 2014. Norman also preceded Norma in 
							death on January 19, 2015. 
							 
							Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. 
							Family was of utmost importance to her and she was 
							very involved in her children’s education and 
							upbringing. She was a member of the First United 
							Methodist Church of Lincoln where she served on 
							several committees as well as being a member of 
							Ruth’s Circle. Norma was also a member and Regent of 
							the Lincoln Daughters of the American Revolution as 
							well as the Lincoln Women’s Club, AAUW, Lincoln 
							College Soiree Committee, Doll Club, White Shrine, 
							and the bridge club.   | 
							
							 
                    
					  
							Norma and Norman spent part of their retirement 
							years in Naples, Florida where she was involved with 
							Ikebana Club, Naples Doll Club, Teddy Bear Museum, 
							Le Parc Social Committee and the Royal Poinciana 
							Club. 
							Surviving are Norma’s children: Douglas (Laurie) 
							Muck and Kaellyn (Terry) Arch, five grandchildren 
							and two great grandchildren. Memorials may be made 
							to the Norman and Norma Muck Scholarship fund at 
							Lincoln College or the First United Methodist 
							Church. 
							 
							Services for Norma will be held at 10:30 a.m. 
							Friday, April 28, 2017 at The First United Methodist 
							Church in Lincoln, with Rev. Michael Paulson and 
							Rev. Brad Curtis officiating. Visitation will be 
							held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. 
							Burial will take place after the services in New 
							Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
