Obituary
Jeffrey G. Kindred, 54, of Atlanta, passed away at
8:25 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at OSF St.
Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Funeral Services for Mr. Kindred will be held on
Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the
Atlanta Christian Church. Mr. Maurice Stribling will
officiate. Burial will be in the Atlanta cemetery at
a later date.
Visitation will be held at the Atlanta Christian
Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday,
April 10, 2017.
Per Jeff's request, cremation rites will be accorded
following the service.
Jeffrey Gordon Kindred was born December 30, 1962,
in Lincoln, the son of Gordon and Jean Harris
Kindred.
Jeff is survived by his parents; his siblings: Gayle
(Dave) Klug, Karen (John) Sherman, Denis (Sherri)
Kindred, and Marsha (John) Mammen; his nieces and
nephews: Elisha (Dustin) Harksen, Janna Shaw, Jordan
Sherman, Kari (William) Hutchison, Ashlee Mammen,
Cole Kindred, Wyatt Mammen, and Caden Kindred;
great-nieces and great-nephews: Maddux, Billy, Mylah,
Kennedy, Isaac, Avrey, and Angus; three aunts; and
his church family. |
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Jeff was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church
where he was very active with music and worship
leadership. He was a member of the Atlanta Community
Band since 1992. He lived and worked in New Zealand
as a youth minister for two years.
Jeff graduated from Olympia High School in 1981 and
Lincoln Christian College and Seminary in 1987. He
sang at many weddings and played taps for many
Veteran funerals.
Memorials may be made to Atlanta Christian Church,
or Atlanta Rescue Squad and First Responders.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
