[April 25, 2017]   The Lincoln Railsplitters softball team jumped out to an early lead over Jacksonville and took home a 12-2 victory on Tuesday.

Lincoln secured the victory thanks to a seven-run second inning. A two-run single by Mackenzie Antoine and doubles by Hope Moos and Kayla Maly led the offensive attack for Lincoln in that second inning.

The inning also included a couple errors by Jacksonville and a groundout by Kerstin Osborne that scored a run.

Lincoln would also get a run in the third inning and break the game wide open with three runs in the sixth inning.

The final run was added in the top of the seventh inning as Lincoln dominated the game 12-2.

Osborne was 1-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Moos was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Maddie Tanner also added a base hit for Lincoln and she scored two runs.

Moos pitched six innings and struck out eleven Jacksonville batters while allowing just two hits and only one earned run.

Lincoln improves to 9-11 on the season.

Weather permitting the ladies will face Jacksonville at home later today. Start time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
