of McLean, formerly of Normal, went home to her Heavenly Father at
5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. |

at St. Mary's Church in Atlanta

10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29th at the church

Obituary
Sarah J. Alberts, 32, of McLean, formerly of Normal,
went home to her Heavenly Father at 5:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at St. Mary's Church
in Atlanta, with the Rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00
a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at St. Mary's
Church. Rev. John Horton and Rev. Monsignor Greg
Ketcham will officiate.
Burial will follow at the McLean Cemetery.
Sarah Jane Alberts was born January 25, 1985, to
Wayne (Maria) Alberts of Atlanta and Sharon Westerfield
Alberts of McLean. They survive. She is also
survived by two sisters: Rebecca (Derek) Kurfman of
Fishhook and Elizabeth (Bryan) Henry of Normal; two
nieces: Emma and Lydia Kurfman; two nephews: Aaron
and Grant Kurfman, and Baby Henry on the way;
maternal grandmother, Dorothy Westerfield of McLean;
and paternal grandfather, Robert Kehl of Lincoln.
Sarah is loved and will be greatly missed by a large
extended family and special friends. |
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather
Harold Westerfield, paternal grandmother Rachel Kehl,
and one uncle.
Sarah was a 2003 graduate of Olympia High School and
then earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from
Illinois State University. Upon graduation, Sarah
was an elementary teacher in Pontiac and then went
on to teach in the Olympia School District.
Memorials may be made to Community Cancer Center in
Normal, Olympia Elementary School Libraries, or an
organization of the donor's choice.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
