The event was held Friday, July 28, at the Lincoln
Elks Country Club. Proceeds from this annual event are added to the
Allen Pickering Athletic Scholarship Endowment Fund which has grown
to more than $200,000. Every sport at Lincoln College has the
ability to award student athletes a stipend from the endowment.
“These scholarships are essential to attracting
and retaining the high quality student athletes that Lincoln College
is known for,” said Dave Klemm, co-chair of the event and Athletic
Director at Lincoln College. “Our students are true scholar-athletes
– this year we had 37 athletes named Academic All-Americans and our
women’s softball team was named the top academic team in the nation.
Many of our student athletes were at the event and got to meet and
thank those who participated.”
This year 288 golfers participated in the event which was the
highest number of participants to date. The winners of this year’s
Corporate Cup were from Graue Chevrolet. The Graue foursome turned
in a score of 57. The Elliott foursome, including LC alums Tye and
Brett Elliott, recorded a 58 to win the age 200 and over group. In
the under 200 group, the Knights Action Park foursome turned in the
lowest score of the day with a 54.

“We can’t thank our sponsors and participants enough,” said Rick
Samuels, co-chair of the event and Senior Development Officer for Lincoln
College. “The event sold out well in advance and we were able to fill every one
of our sponsorship opportunities, thanks to the strong support of the local
business community. I especially want to thank Country Financial for serving as
the overall event sponsor.”
In addition to Country Financial, major sponsors of the event included Core
Construction, State Bank of Lincoln, Par Golf Supply, Sysco, Town and Country
Bank, Cavallo Bus Lines, and Lincoln Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
Next year’s outing is scheduled for July 27, 2018.
