Cub Scouting is designed for boys kindergarten
through fifth grades and is a program that involves the entire
family. Typically each age group has a den of 6-8 boys. There are
currently 1.3 million Cub Scouts and 395,000 adult volunteers in the
United States.
“Cub Scouts is an opportunity for boys to have fun while learning to
do their best and to help others,” said Brent Kenney, Pack 101
Cubmaster. “The boys typically meet weekly and take part in a
variety of activities and games. Each year we hold a pinewood derby,
take part in service projects and complete activities that encourage
the scouts to learn by doing.”

“Cub Scouts has been a great experience for not just my son,
Henry, but for the entire family. During his first year he was able to meet new
friends and learn new things while earning awards. He also enjoyed zip lining
and camping together as a family,” said Angela Stoltzenburg.
Interested parents and their sons should meet at the flag pole across from the
Boy Scout Area at Kickapoo Park. For more information, contact Cubmaster Brent
Kenney at 217-737-5953 or Dana Alaniz at 309-424-2360.
