Obituary
Robert Edward “Bob” Danley, 81, of Lincoln,
passed away August 3, 2017 at Memorial Medical
Center, Springfield.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Holland Barry &
Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be
held at 1:00PM Sunday, August 6, 2017 at The Glass
House. There will be no burial at this time.
Bob was born September 28, 1935 in Logan County,
IL., the son of Creede and Alberta (Sparks) Danley.
He married Cheryl Oakley on June 24, 1975 in St.
Louis, MO.
Bob graduated from New Holland High School and
attended Eastern Illinois University. He was
employed at PPG for more than 10 years. He retired
from Shell Oil Refinery - Deer Park, TX. He was a
lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge 2708 and was a
bartender at the Glass House.
He was an avid St Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears
Fan. He enjoyed sportsmanship, especially golf and
pool.

Survivors include: his wife Cheryl of Lincoln; son Kevin Danley of Lincoln;
daughters Kelly Bixler (Dave) of Lincoln, Kitty Adye (Bandy) of Shumway, Theresa
Wilkes (Trent) of Hamshire, TX., Cyndi Carlen of Lincoln, Stacy Nolen (Jay
Babbitt) of Lincoln, and Amy Yarbrough (Robert) of La Porte, TX; 23
grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister
Janice (Danley) Rock, he was loved by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill Danley and Richard “Dick”
Danley, and grandson Todd Blaum.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Alzheimers
Research.
