Dodgers 6, Pirates 5
Yasiel Puig homered leading off the 12th inning, leading the Los
Angeles Dodgers to a 6-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on
Monday.
The Dodgers erased a 3-0 Pirates lead with five runs in the seventh
inning, four on Curtis Granderson's grand slam off Gerrit Cole.
Indians 5, Red Sox 4
A throwing error by first baseman Brock Holt in the bottom of the
ninth inning allowed the winning run to score as Cleveland beat
Boston.
Brandon Guyer led off the ninth with a double to left field off
Brandon Workman (0-1). Roberto Perez laid down an attempted
sacrifice bunt that rolled halfway to the mound.
Diamondbacks 3, Mets 2 (10 innings)
A.J. Pollock hit a two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning as
Arizona beat New York.
The Diamondbacks snapped a three-game losing streak to move within a
half-game of the idle Colorado Rockies for the first wild-card spot
in the National League. The Mets lost for the seventh time in eight
games.
Orioles 7, Athletics 3
Adam Jones homered twice as part of a four-hit night, and Jonathan
Schoop and Welington Castillo also went deep as Baltimore defeated
Oakland.
Jones tied a career high with the four hits, going 4-for-4. He hit a
solo shot in the second inning to give Baltimore a 2-1 lead. His
second homer came right after Schoop's three-run shot in the fifth
inning.
White Sox 7, Twins 6 (Game 1)
Yolmer Sanchez and Jose Abreu homered, and Carlos Rodon struck out
nine in 6 1/3 innings as Chicago beat Minnesota in the first game of
a doubleheader.
Sanchez, who drove in four runs, gave the White Sox a 5-1 lead in
the fourth inning with a three-run homer. After Abreu homered to
lead off the fifth inning, Sanchez's sacrifice fly later in the
inning extended Chicago's lead to 7-1.

Twins 10, White Sox 2 (Game 2)
Dillon Gee allowed two hits in six innings, and Jorge Polanco, Brian
Dozier, Byron Buxton and Jason Castro homered as Minnesota picked up
a doubleheader split against Chicago.
In his first start since being acquired from the Texas Rangers
earlier this season, Gee threw four perfect innings before allowing
a solo home run and a sixth-inning double. Gee (1-0) got more than
enough offensive support, including the four homers.
Mariners 6, Braves 5
Yonder Alonso had three hits and three RBIs in support of
left-hander Andrew Albers, who worked five effective innings in
Seattle's win over Atlanta.
Alonso was 3-for-5 with two doubles, extending his hitting streak to
eight games. Two of his hits came with two outs, and the veteran is
6-for-14 on the first four games of the Mariners' road trip.
Giants 2, Brewers 0
Chris Stratton combined with three relievers on a four-hitter,
delivering San Francisco a victory over Milwaukee.
Brandon Crawford's RBI double highlighted a two-run fourth inning
off Brewers starter Zach Davies, which was enough to hand the
right-hander his first road loss of the season.
Rangers 5, Angels 3
Adrian Beltre homered and drove in four runs to lead Texas to a win
over Los Angeles.
The win moved the Rangers within two games of the Minnesota Twins
for the second American League wild card. [© 2017 Thomson Reuters. All
