The Railers Volleyball Team opened the 2017 season on the
road at Champaign Centennial on Thursday night and the varsity
brought home a victory in two sets, 25-22 and 25-18 the score.
Lincoln coach Kyle Caldwell was very pleased with his team’s effort
on opening night.
"Tonight was exactly the start to the year we were hoping for. We
got a few early jitters out of the way and played really clean
volleyball throughout the rest of the match,” said Caldwell. "We
have been working extremely hard on serve receive at practice and it
showed tonight as we passed a 2.21 average as a team which is
impressive at every level. I'm very excited to see what we will be
able to accomplish offensively if we can keep ourselves in system as
much as we were tonight. This group definitely has the skills,
energy, and heart to achieve great things this year. They are a true
pleasure to work with.”
