McClement, Jay
C Jay McClement was signed to a professional tryout contract
with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. McClement, 34, has
played the last three seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes. As a
member of the Hurricanes, McClement tallied 15 goals and 40
points in 224 contests, while winning 53.7 percent of his
faceoffs and logging the most cumulative short-handed minutes of
any Carolina forward.

NHL Note - New Jersey Devils Stafford, Drew
F Drew Stafford signed a one-year contract worth $800,000 with
the New Jersey Devils on Friday. Stafford collected eight goals
and 13 assists in 58 games last season with the Winnipeg Jets
and Boston Bruins last season. The 31-year-old recorded eight
points (four goals, four assists) in 18 contests after he was
traded to the Bruins on March 1 for a conditional sixth-round
pick in the 2018 draft.
