			 The
donations were raised during the College’s Homecoming Week, Nov.
6-11, as part of the process for the campus community to vote in
			their 2017 royalty.

Zach Landers, Coordinator of Student Activities for Lincoln College,
explained that students believe being a part of the homecoming court
at Lincoln College should be more than a sash and title and have
used the king and queen competition to give back to the community.

The king and queen are determined by a week-long “coin war” and
canned food drive where members of the campus community can donate
canned food items, cash, and pennies to add points or quarters,
dimes, and nickels to take away points.

			In less
than a week, the homecoming court had raised over $400 and collected
nearly 700 canned food items through the support of their friends
and other members of the campus community. Students are selected to
be on the homecoming court based on their academic excellence,
involvement on campus, and how well they live the mission and values
of Lincoln College. To stick with tradition, all proceeds and canned
food items are donated to the Lincoln-Logan Food Pantry.
