Following a wonderful Christmas ham dinner, 287
coats and over 65 pairs of hats and gloves for children were given
away. Verdeen Ingram said the extra coats left at the end of the
event would be given to children at Head Start or to families who
come into the agency needing coats.

Children also received holiday themed books as part of a book
			giveaway.

At a Christmas craft table, kids could decorate snowmen, stockings,
Ginger bread men, and Christmas trees with glitter and other
			accessories.

Christmas themed games included a snowman ball toss, a snowman tower
kids could knock down, and a reindeer ring toss.
Children who sat on Santa's lap could tell him
what they want for Christmas and get their picture taken with him.

Leslie Keller, recruitment coordinator for CAPCIL's Head Start
program had an information table telling about their many resources.

Sponsors helping making the day possible were St. John United Church of Christ,
who donated coats, the Lincoln Kiwanis Club, Lincoln Elks Club #914, the Lincoln
Rotary Club, Atlanta Rotary Club, LCHS Culinary Arts Program, and a very
generous anonymous donor.

Many families enjoyed the annual event that helps kick off the holiday season.
