Obituary
Frederick P. Eckert, 80, of Lincoln,
passed away at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday, November 29th at
Symphony of Lincoln.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday,
December 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Lincoln. Rev. Simon Taabu will
officiate.
Visitation will be held at Peasley Funeral Home from
9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the Mass on
Saturday.
Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lincoln.
Military Rites to be accorded by Lincoln American
Legion Post #263.
Frederick Paul Eckert was born June 20, 1937, in
Lincoln, the son of Earl and Rosemary Bauman Eckert.
He is survived by his children: Melissa (Jim)
Parrott of Lincoln and Rudy (Jane) Eckert of
Springfield; one sister: Joann Walsh of Hudson; five
grandchildren: Tanner Parrott of Dixon, Curran
Parrott of Lincoln, James Lewis of Lincoln, and
Jackson Eckert and Ellie Eckert of Springfield;
three great-grandchildren: Lainey, Joel, and Ellis;
and two wonderful friends: Tim Armstrong and Gerardo
Valdez. |
Fred was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He then
served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the
Lincoln Development Center where he had worked as head engineer.
Fred was a member of Holy Family Church, Lincoln Knights of Columbus
#1250, Marine Corps League, Lincoln American Legion Post #263, and
Lincoln Moose Lodge.
Fred loved to watch Notre Dame college football games. Go Irish!
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or Marine Corps League.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of
Lincoln.
