Obituary
William R. “Bill” Wurth, 91, of
Lincoln passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at
St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.
Bill was born on October 27, 1926, in Lincoln; son
of Leo H. and Ethel May (Carpenter) Wurth. He
married Ruth Ellen Wiggers on April 3, 1948 in
Lincoln, she preceded him in death on June 23, 1993.
He later married Vera L. Wilson on December 29, 1995
in Lincoln. She survives in Lincoln.
Bill is also survived by his daughter, Cynthia Lee
(Roger) Boerma of Athens, GA; two sons, Michael Lynn
(Judith) Wurth of Bloomington, and Stephen Robert
(Linda) Wurth of Hartsburg, three stepsons; one
sister, Sister Mary Alan Wurth of Rebud.
Additionally he is survived by eight grandchildren,
fourteen great-grandchildren, five step
grandchildren, and seven step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife,
Ruth Ellen.

Bill retired from farming after
forty-three years in Orvil Township. He did custom
farming and ran Wurth Ceramics with his wife, Ruth
Ellen for many years. He attended Holy Family Church
in Lincoln. Bill proudly served his country in The
U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of
Hartsburg American Legion Post #1146, The Knights of
Columbus, and Lincoln Elks Lodge #914.
Services for Bill will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
Friday, December 1, 2017 at Holy Family Church in
Lincoln. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A
rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. (prior to
visitation). Burial will follow the services at St.
Mary’s Cemetery in Lincoln where full military rites
will be accorded.
Memorials may be made in William’s name to Holy
Family Church, Lincoln or St. Clara’s Manor,
Lincoln.
