The performances kick off Thursday and Friday with
the College’s Jazz Band Review, Next Stop Harlem. That will
be followed by the Lincoln College Choirs presentation of Made in
America: Celebrating Diversity through American Genres, Artists, and
Composers, on Saturday and Sunday.
Calia Cole, of Springfield, is one of the featured
performers for the Lincoln College choir concert.
The Jazz review is a time-traveling excursion that
will transport the audience back to the heyday of jazz in Harlem
during the 1920s, ‘30s and 40s. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m.
both Thursday and Friday night, on the main stage at the Johnston
Center for Performing Arts on the Lincoln College Campus. Admission
is $5, with a reduced price of $1 for student and seniors.
On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Lincoln College Choirs will take the stage
at 7:30 p.m. The Choirs will repeat their performance again on
Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

“We are inviting everyone to join the Lincoln College Choirs for
an evening or an afternoon of music celebrating diversity. With Bruce
Springsteen, Ben E. King, Eric Whitacre, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and everything in
between on the program, there is truly something for everyone!” said Laurie
Lewis-Fritz, lead faculty for vocal performance at Lincoln College. “Featured
groups include the Lincoln College Chorale, the Chamber Choir, TrebLynx (debut
performance) and Four Score (debut performance), in addition to a variety of
soloists. We hope to see you there!”
General Admission for Made in America is also $5 with special $1
pricing for students and seniors. Interested persons call the Johnston Center
Box Office at 217-735-7280 to reserve seats. All proceeds from the choir
performances will benefit the Chamber Choir performance trip in April to New
York City.
