WLB 8th grade girls will play for state championship

[December 10, 2017]  The West Lincoln-Broadwell Lady Wolverines basketball team swept the competition on Saturday at the Class 8-1A IESA State Tournament in Lexington.

The eighth grade Lady Wolverines are making history and closer to their ultimate goal of bringing home another state championship trophy later this week.

Last Thursday night the 7th grade team won the state championship in Assumption.

On Saturday afternoon in the quarterfinals the Lady Wolverines won a “close” game with Washington St. Patrick by a score of 34-27.

On Saturday evening in the semifinals the Lady Wolverines played much better the second game, according to Coach Kari Froebe, and defeated Jacksonville Our Saviour 54-18.

WLB (27-0) will take on Pana Sacred Heart (26-1) in the championship game at 7:30 Thursday night in Lexington.
