Visitation:  9 a.m. Saturday December 9, 2017, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home

Obituary

The departure for Raymond P. Buch of Lincoln came on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. As the apostle Paul wrote, “the time of my departure is at the hand. I fought the good fight and kept the faith; and henceforth there is made up for me a crown of righteousness; but not for me alone, but for all those who love the Lord.” 2nd Timothy 4:7.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, who taught chemistry and science at the Lincoln Junior High School.

Ray is survived by his sons: Ron (Dianne) Buch of Highland, and Dave (Mary Ellen) Buch of Springfield, one daughter: Carol (Mike) Forbeck of Shamong, NJ. He had five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ray was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 12, 1926. He graduated from Perry High School in 1944, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific theatre, ending with the battle at Okinawa Island.

Ray held a BA in Radio, a Masters in Speech, and a Masters of Divinity from Lincoln Christian College. He held preaching ministries in Illinois and Florida, and was an Associate Professor of Speech at Lincoln Christian College. He retired from Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Services for Ray will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 9, 2017, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Ken Genicks officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial at Zion Cemetery will follow the service, where full military rites will be accorded by American Legion post #263.

Memorials may be made in Ray’s name to Lincoln Christian Village.
