- John Davison, 89, of Middletown passed away on Thursday, November
30, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Obituary
John Davison, 89, of Middletown
passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at
Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
John was born on March 16, 1928, in Logan County;
the son of James and Matilda (Steinhour) Davison. He
married Ione Leinweber on June 22, 1952 in Minooka.
She survives him in Middletown.
Also surviving John are his children: Julie (Rex
Gill) Brown and Gail (Karen) Davison; one sister:
Delores Burger; five grandchildren; eleven
great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one
step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by
his parents, two sisters, two brothers, one
grandchild, and one great grandchild.
John proudly served his country as a member of The
Military Police in The U.S. Army. John enjoyed being
outside, especially while spending time in his
garden. When he wasn’t outside, he would often be
found watching his beloved Chicago Cubs. |
He also loved his western shows and
movies, John Wayne was his favorite. John was truly
a hard working man, but he always made time for his
family; especially listening to his grandchildren’s
stories.
Services for John will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday,
December 6, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln, IL with Josh Gorrie officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Burial at Irish Grove Cemetery will be held at a
later date. Memorials may be made in John’s name to
First United Methodist Church in Middletown.
