Obituary
Russell Barry, 56, of Emden passed
away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Memorial Medical
Center, Springfield.
Russell Dean Barry was born on January 12, 1961, in
Emden, Illinois, the son of Allen and Lula Belle (Conrady)
Barry.
Russell attended Emden Grade School and was a member
of Hartsburg-Emden High School’s Class of 1979.
Russell was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 506,
Emden. Throughout his working life, he drove a
semi-truck, both cross-country and locally. He also
worked construction and helped on the family farm.
When Russell was home, he spent as much time as he
could outdoors, fishing and hunting at local ponds
and on the river. Russell was a supporter of Hartem
Athletics and was very proud of his nieces, who play
volleyball. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He also enjoyed nice dinners and trying his luck at
the card table.
Russell will be missed by his mother, Lula Belle;
sister, Roberta (Ron) Gray of Byrnes Mill, MO, and
brother Ron (Vanessa) Barry of Emden; nieces and
nephews, Rebekah (Jason) Gray-Long of High Ridge,
MO, Robert Gray of West Lafayette, IN, and Lexi and
Lily Barry of Emden; great-nephews, Jace and Grayson
Long; aunt, Darline Becker of Emden; and special
friend Tina Coers, of Emden. Russell is preceded in
