							Obituary  
							 Ruth Aper, 90, of Hartsburg, went 
							home December 7, 2017, at The Christian Village with 
							her family by her side.
 Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. 
							Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at St. John's Lutheran 
							Church, Hartsburg. Funeral services will be at 11 
							a.m. with Pastor Lisa Goodwin officiating. Burial 
							will follow in Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Holland 
							Barry & Bennett Funeral Home has been entrusted with 
							her care.
 
 Ruth was born May 26, 1927, in Hartsburg, the 
							daughter of Rudolph and Florence (Rentschler) Aper. 
							She worked at the family general store and 
							restaurant in Hartsburg while growing up. She 
							retired from Lehn and Fink after more than 30 years 
							of service. She was active in her community and 
							served on the Hartsburg Town Board. She was active 
							in her church, St. John's Lutheran, and sang in the 
							choir. She enjoyed bowling and was a die-hard 
							Chicago Cub fan.

Survivors include nieces and nephews: Gloria Aper Hermes (Garry), 
Pam Coogan (Steve), Steve Aper (Marge), Dan Hieronymus (Brenda), Cindy Esper 
(Dave), and Brian Aper; several great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and 
nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many 
cousins and friends.
 Ruth was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her 
parents, brother Arthur Aper, twin sister June Taylor, and sister Mariann 
Suedmeier.
 
 The family wishes to sincerely thank Toni Lolling for her love and care and the 
staff of The Christian Village for the excellent care, friendship, and love they 
showed to Ruth.
