G Lance Stephenson had a career-high 15 rebounds in the Pacers' game
Wednesday. He averaged just five points on 25 percent shooting in
the first eight games. Since then, Stephenson has scored in double
figures 12 times.

F Josh McRoberts, from the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel and a

inactive Wednesday when the Knicks played his former team. Noah has
been inactive for all but four games since he returned from a drug
suspension in November.

G Zach LaVine (torn ACL) went through with a full practice with the
Bulls' G League affiliate on Tuesday and is continuing his stretch
of practicing six straight days. LaVine is still slated to return to

NBA Note - Minnesota Timberwolves Butler, Jimmy
G Jimmy Butler scored scored 12 of his game-high 39 points in
overtime to help Minnesota top Denver on Wednesday night. Butler's
best performance of the season drew chants of "MVP! MVP!" from the
sold-out Target Center. "I just want to be here to win, give this
city hope, put this city back where it wants to be -- at the top of
this thing, in the playoffs," said Butler, in his first season with
Minnesota. "But we've got to continue to play some really good
basketball."

NBA Note - Sacramento Kings Carter, Vince
F Vince Carter, who missed the team's previous three games -- two by
coach's decision and one as a result of rib pain -- received
multiple standing ovations from the Golden 1 Center crowd. He
finished 10 of 12 from the field, 4 of 5 from the 3-point arc,
sinking big-time shots to answer almost every Cleveland attempt to
cut into the lead.
His 24 points were the most he has scored since he had 24 last March
as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. Carter is the first NBA player
over the age of 40 to score 20-plus points off the bench.
"I mean, he made some bombs," Cleveland All-Star LeBron James said
of Carter. "He's a Hall of Famer for a reason. Let's not take that
for granted. Once he got going, we couldn't slow him down."
Carter had seven points and two key assists in the fourth quarter as
Sacramento held off a Cavs team that took its first back-to-back
losses since snapping a four-game skid on Nov. 3. James finished
with a triple-double of 16 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds. His
16 points matched his lowest output of the season from a late
October loss to the New York Knicks.
Carter logged 29:40 of playing time on the night. It was his
second-most minutes played this season and only the third time in 21
games that he exceeded 20 minutes. He equaled his season-high point
total (nine) by halftime, but he saved his biggest moments for late
in the third quarter and much of the fourth.

came off the bench to post 17 points, nine rebounds and four
assists.

NBA Note - Cleveland Cavaliers Love, Kevin
F Kevin Love finished with 21 points. Love, who was coming off a
Christmas Day effort at Golden State in which he scored 31 points on
a season-high six 3-pointers and added a season-high 18 rebounds,
scored 11 in the first quarter Wednesday to help push Cleveland out
to early leads of 12-4 and 23-18.

NBA Note - Golden State Warriors Durant, Kevin
F Kevin Durant made the highlight reel with two flying dunks during
a third-quarter runaway Wednesday night.
He was hoping afterward that some room on the tape was saved for his
blocked shots.
Durant was a dominant force both offensively and defensively against
the Utah Jazz, propelling the Golden State Warriors to a 126-101
victory, their 13th in the last 14 games.
"It's cool to have people recognize me as more than a scorer,"
Durant said after a 21-point, six-rebound, four-assist, three-block
performance that also featured 7-for-10 shooting. "I've been trying
to shake that reputation since 2012. I try to impact the game at
both ends of the floor."
Durant became the first Golden State player since C Adonal Foyle in
2002 to record two or more blocks in 10 consecutive games.

Wild. Patton, the 16th overall pick in this year's draft, has yet to

NBA Note - New Orleans Pelicans Rondo, Rajon
PG Rajon Rondo had a career-high 25 assists on Wednesday against
Brooklyn. "To get 25 is pretty incredible," said Anthony Davis,
whose 33-point, 11-rebound and season-high, six-block night was
stage left to Rondo's center-stage performance. Rondo was the
catalyst for the Pelicans setting a franchise record of 40 assists
on 48 made field goals. His 25 assists were one more than his
previous career high of 24, set in 2010 when he played for the
Boston Celtics. Rondo also is one of only four NBA players -- Isiah
Thomas, Magic Johnson and John Stockton are the others -- to have
multiple games of at least 23 assists in a game. "We had (48)
baskets with 40 assists, so that speaks for itself," Rondo said. "It
wasn't just me. It was our team, a collective effort. The ball was
hopping and we were making plays for each other."

G Ian Clark, who scored a team-high 19 points in a victory over
Miami on Saturday, has remained ready despite limited playing time.
"I just think it's opportunity," Gentry said. "I said to someone the
other night it's really tough for a guy when he's not in the
rotation and he may or may not not play. The thing about Ian is that
he's an unbelievable pro. He works at it and he's prepared. He comes
in every day as if he's going to play."

coming down awkwardly defending a Memphis shot. Kuzma returned
shortly thereafter, but he made little impact, finishing with nine
points on 4-of-24 shooting.
"I was very happy about the shots. I thought they were all, for the
most part, pretty good, open shots," Kuzma said. "It just wasn't
falling tonight. As a professional, you're going to have those
nights. Everyone's had those nights, and tonight was mine."
Kuzma's 4-of-24 shooting from the floor and 1-of-11 from behind the
3-point arc were both season worsts.
