Obituary
Elaine E. Ray, 83, of Lincoln passed
away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Elaine was born on October 31, 1934 in Havana,
daughter of Earl S. “Slim” and Corena (Stoever)
Morris. She married Richard Ivan Ray on March 8,
1953 in Havana. He survives in Lincoln. Sir Ivan was
her top priority and they were married nearly 65
years.
Elaine is also survived by her children: Kevin M.
(Linda) Ray of Lincoln, Keith H. (Jeaneen) of
Lincoln, Kimber Leigh (Dave) Brucker of Bloomington,
and Kara L. (Clay) Rull of Maryville, eleven
grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, one brother:
Richard H. Morris, and one son: Kyle I. Ray.
Elaine was devoted to her family, enjoying tea
parties with her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She spent much of her time creating
crafts, items for her wardrobe, home decorations,
and banners for the church. She volunteered
countless hours in service to LWML, Zion Lutheran
Church and School, ALMH Auxiliary, and the local
food pantry. |
Services for Elaine will be 11:00
a.m. Friday December 29, 2017 at Zion Lutheran
Church in Lincoln, with Rev. Mark Thompson
officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
prior to service also at the church. Burial at
Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, will be at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made in Elaine’s name to Lutheran
Women’s Missionary League, Zion Lutheran Church, and
School.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
