T. Richard "Dick" Furman, 82, of Waynesville, passed away at 2:45
a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln. |
Visitation:
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta and one
hour before the service on Friday.
Service:
Friday, Dec. 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary
T. Richard "Dick" Furman, 82, of
Waynesville, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday,
Dec. 19, 2017, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
Funeral services for Mr. Furman will be held on
Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Burial will
follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville. Rev.
Bill Ramsdale will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21, at the
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta from 5:00
p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and on Friday from 10:00 a.m.
until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Thomas Richard Furman was born January 10, 1935, in
Lincoln, a son of Thomas T. and Edythe Fletcher
Furman. He married Shirley Jean Correll on April 11,
1954, in Waynesville. She survives.
Dick is also survived by their children: Linda
(Dale) Lee, Mike (Janine) Furman, and Randy (Jamie)
Furman, all of Waynesville, and Kimberly (Mark)
Schmidgall of Mackinaw; 17 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Al (Kay)

Luray, Va. |
He was preceded in death by his
parents, and two brothers: Bill and Don Furman.
Dick graduated as valedictorian of his class from
Waynesville High School. He was engaged in farming
in the Waynesville area until 1964. He, along with
his brother Al, owned and operated Furman Brothers
Service in Waynesville through 1975. His hobbies
included truck gardening and willow craft. He was
also an avid bass fisherman.
Memorials may be made to Waynesville Fire
Department.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
