							Obituary 
							 Marvin Paul Johnson, 74, of Lincoln, formerly of 
							New Holland, passed away January 21, 2017, at 
							Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital surrounded by his 
							loving family. 
 Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 
							25, 2017, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. 
							Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, 
							January 26, 2017, also at the funeral home with Rev. 
							Ken Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in 
							Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
 
 Marvin was born July 13, 1942, in Lincoln, the son 
							of Franklin Benjamin and Esther (Erdman) Johnson. He 
							married Janet Franz of August 12, 1961, in Lincoln. 
							He was formerly employed at Lehn and Fink, was a 
							long time farmer in the New Holland area, and worked 
							for Stine Seed Company. Marvin was a member of St. 
							John's United Church of Christ, was a past president 
							of the New Holland-Middletown School Board, sat on 
							the Church Council and the Logan County Zoning Board 
							of Appeals, and was a Logan County Farm Bureau 
							member. He enjoyed fishing, camping, vacation, 
							traveling in the car, AJ Foyt racing, and never 
							missed an opportunity to watch the Indianapolis 500. 
							Marvin's greatest joy was his family. His love, 
							laugh, stories, and chocolate treats will be missed 
							by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his mother Esther Johnson of Lincoln; his wife Janet Johnson of 
Lincoln; children Aaron (Debbie) Johnson of Monticello, Amy (John) Tabor of 
Lincoln, and Ryan (Becky) Johnson of Springfield; grandchildren: Michelle 
Schneider, Megan Johnson, Ethan Tabor, Seth Johnson, Andrew Tabor, Shelbie 
Nevill, Max Johnson, and Tanner Johnson; great-grandchildren Emersyn Schneider 
and Clark Kristufek; and brother Franklin "Frank" (Norma) Johnson of Cantrall.
 He was preceded in death by his father.
 
 Memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or to the 
American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
