Pittsburgh Penguins forward Carl Hagelin has been sidelined with a
concussion.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said Monday that Hagelin is in the
league's concussion protocol, the result of a hit he absorbed from
Alexander Steen of the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
The 28-year-old Hagelin has six goals and 19 points in 51 games for
Pittsburgh, which also is missing forwards Evgeni Malkin and Conor
Sheary due to injury.
Malkin, who was sidelined four games due to a lower-body injury,
practiced in a non-contact jersey Monday but will not be ready for
Tuesday's game against Calgary.

The Buffalo Sabres claimed forward Derek Grant off waivers from the
Nashville Predators.
The Sabres then assigned Grant to the Rochester Americans of the
American Hockey League.
Grant, 26, signed with the Sabres as a free agent on July 2, 2016,
after spending the 2015-16 season in the Calgary Flames'
organization, where he split his time between Calgary and the
Stockton Heat of the AHL.

The Buffalo Sabres signed defenseman Justin Falk to a one-year
contract extension worth $650,000, the team announced.

Since joining the Sabres as a free agent on July 1, 2016, the
6-foot-5, 222-pound Falk has four assists and 17 penalty minutes in
35 games this season, averaging 13:11 of ice time per contest.

The Nashville Predators recalled goaltender Juuse Saros from
Milwaukee of the American Hockey League and reassigned goalie Marek
Mazanec to the Admirals.
Saros, 21, is 5-3-2 with a 1.79 goals-against average and .941 save
percentage in 10 starts for the Predators this season.
Mazanec, 25, is 0-2-0 with a 4.72 goals-against average and an .839
