ST MORITZ, Switzerland (Reuters)
- Poor visibility continued to delay the start of the men's downhill
at the Alpine skiing world championships on Saturday.
Low clouds descended over the mountain tops shortly before the
scheduled 6.00 a.m. ET start and continued to cover parts of the
course meaning it was not possible to start at the revised start
time of 6.30 a.m. ET.
Organizers will inspect the conditions again but with conditions
worsening, the race may have to be postponed.
Canada's Erik Guay will start amongst the favorites after winning
the super-G earlier this week.
Olympic champion Matthias Mayer of Austria is the first starter
while Swiss reigning world champion Patrick Kueng is 10th on the
start list.
