National Honor Society and St. John Church partner in blanket fundraiser

[February 14, 2017]   LINCOLN - The National Honor Society of Lincoln Community High School will join with the Mission Ministry of St. John United Church of Christ at a fundraiser at Culver’s Restaurant in Lincoln on Sunday, February 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Proceeds from the 10 percent donation from Culver’s during those hours will purchase blankets for those who, due to some disaster have nowhere to live. The blankets will also be distributed to the homeless in Illinois and across the country and to refugees who have had leave their home and even their country, so they may can carry their few belongings in the blanket or use it just keep warm.

St. John UCC sponsors a Blanket Sunday every year to send blankets to areas of disaster or hardship. Through Church World Service a warm blanket can be bought for $10.
