Hartsburg-Emden boys fall to Heyworth 63-57

[February 18, 2017]  The Hartem boys basketball team lost on the road to Heyworth Friday night in the last game of the regular season. The Stags fell to the Hornets by a final score of 63-57.

Heyworth led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter and by halftime the Hornets had jumped out to a 30-22 lead.

Heyworth continued to add to the lead and by the end of the third quarter they were up 47-33 over Hartem.

Despite a 24-point fourth quarter performance by the Stags, Heyworth held on to win 63-57.

Heyworth’s record improves to 20-6 on the season, while Hartem’s record sits at 15 wins and 13 losses heading into regionals.

Alec Hayes led the Stags with 25 points. Brady Wolpert and Antonio Coit-Kirk chipped in 12 and 11 points respectively.
