Although based on a large donation received from the
Shirley/Goode family of Hartsburg, the program will also feature the
Society’s entire collections. The Shirley/Goode collection
includes a book of family tintypes, the 1873 Bible of Henry and
Martha Shirley, genealogy folders, and a sizeable postcard
collection dating from 1907.
Other Bibles on display will be the 1872 Bible of F. M. and E. Hayes
of Lincoln and the 1857 Bible of David Birk and Sara Copeland, who
were married in Mt. Pulaski.
Other Postcards to be shown are an embossed Hartsburg, IL card, a
Greetings from Atlanta, IL card, and the entire Lincoln, IL
collection. Duplicate cards and copies will be available for sale or
order.
