			 The day was marked by local leaders as a great success, raising 
			funds through a “donation only” meal, and a large silent auction to 
			benefit Logan County 4-Hers, Clubs, and 4-H activities. 
 The donation only meal makes the event an affordable activity for 
			families. No one questions the amount placed in the large container 
			at the front door, so even families on a tight budget can come out, 
			enjoy a good meal and a great time together as a family.
 
 The event is also a great place for friends to gather, enjoy a meal, 
			and spent time chatting around the table over a delicious dessert.
 
			
			 
			
			 
			
			 
 In addition to the meal, a large silent auction was set up in the 
			center of the room. Items from the auction were donated by 
			supporters of 4-H and included some remarkable offerings.
 
 The day is also a day of recognition for 4-H members and clubs.
 
 Throughout the day, from time to time, members would be called to 
			the stage area where they were recognized.
 
 The following information has been provided by Patty Huffer, Logan 
			County Extension:
 
 Logan County 4-H recently held their Recognition Event to honor 
			achievement by local 4-H members during the 2015-2016 4-H year.
 
 Some 4-H'ers are chosen each year as top award winners and are 
			selected based on outstanding work, quantity, quality, years, 
			citizenship, leadership, participation, skill acquisition and 
			growth. These are given in two age categories: 11 - 13 years of age 
			and 14 - 19 years of age.
 
 Local award sponsors include Atlanta Ag 4-H Club, Mike Booher, 
			Brandt Consolidated, Farm Credit Illinois, Hollanders 4-H Club, 
			Middletown 4-H’ers, Ed & Carlene Carter Family, State Bank of 
			Lincoln and Scott & Kelly Tucker Family.
 
 A Blue Award is given to a 4-H'er deserving of repeat recognition in 
			a category.
