The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled center Frederik Gauthier and placed
center Mitch Marner on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 15 with
an upper-body injury on Tuesday.
Gauthier, 21, has two goals and an assist in 18 games with the Maple
Leafs this season. The 21st-overall pick in the 2013 NHL Draft had
one goal and five assists in 26 games with the Toronto Marlies of
the American Hockey League.
Marner, 19, sustained a suspected right shoulder injury last
Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The fourth overall pick
in the 2015 NHL Draft has 15 goals and 33 assists in 56 games with
the Maple Leafs on the campaign.

The Carolina Hurricanes acquired defenseman Philip Samuelsson from
the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Keegan Lowe.
Samuelsson, 25, has not played in an NHL game this season, but has
one goal and four assists in 40 games with the St. John's IceCaps of
the AHL.

The Arizona Coyotes recalled defenseman Anthony DeAngelo from Tucson
of the AHL.

The move comes one day after the Coyotes traded defenseman Michael
Stone to the Calgary Flames for a third-round pick in the 2017 draft
and a conditional fifth-round selection in 2018.

The St. Louis Blues assigned center Ivan Barbashev and left wing
Magnus Paajarvi to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Barbashev, 21, has two goals and an assist in 12 games with the
Blues this season.

The Calgary Flames assigned right wing Garnet Hathaway to the
Stockton Heat of the AHL.
Hathaway, 25, has one goal and four assists in 26 games with the
