[February 22, 2017]  LINCOLN - Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) and Logan Mason Public Transportation (LMPT) will be offering FREE rides to the polls on February 28th, 2017 between the hours of 7:30 am and 6pm.

CAPCIL and LMPT believe that no one should miss the opportunity to participate in an election because transportation is inaccessible. Both polling places, Lincoln Christian Church and Jefferson Street Christian Church, will be added to the flex route for the day to allow individuals the opportunity to vote. An on demand service will also be available for rides to the polling locations. If individuals wish to utilize the on demand service they are encouraged to RSVP their preferred ride time by February 27th, 2017. LMPT will accept calls for rides to the polls on February 28th, however a specific time preference might not be available. For a list of the pickup locations, individuals can access them online at CAPCIL’s website at www.capcil.info/transportation.

It is the mission of CAPCIL, in partnership with communities in our service area, to empower persons with low income and the aged by creating and implementing poverty-fighting initiatives for those in crisis and those that endeavor a life of lasting independence. LMPT is partially funded by The United Way of Logan County, Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland, and IDOT. For more information about CAPCIL or LMPT you can visit their website at (www.capcil.info), like their Facebook page, or call 217-732-2159.
