							Lincoln  Obituary Douglas D. DeMay, 51, of Lincoln, passed away on 
							Friday, December 16, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at the 
							University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago.
 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 
							December 22, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family 
							Catholic Church in Lincoln with Rev. Jeffrey G. 
							Laible officiating.
 
 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 
							2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. 
							until 7:00 p.m.
 
 An Elk's Memorial Ceremony will be held following 
							the visitation.
 
 Additional visitation will be held on Monday, 
							December 26, 2016, at the Rux Funeral Home in 
							Kewanee from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
 
 Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kewanee at 
							a later date.
 
 Douglas Dean DeMay was born on August 28, 1965, in 
							Kewanee, Illinois, the son of George Peter and 
							Berneice Kay Van Pratt DeMay.
 
 He is survived by his parents of Kewanee, two 
							brothers: Brad (Jackie) DeMay of Kewanee, and Rod 
							DeMay of California; one nephew: Jonathan DeMay; one 
							niece: Amanda Clementz, and special friend: Don 
							Peasley.
 
 He was preceded in death by his Grandparents and 
							Aunt Mary King

                Doug graduated from Kewanee High School in 1983 and then 
				received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois 
				University in 1987.
 He served in the Illinois National Guard.
 
 Doug is the owner Investment Center of Lincoln.
 
                He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served 
				as an Usher and WATCH program, 3rd and 4th Degree Knight of 
				Council #1250. He was a member of Lincoln/Logan County Chamber 
				of Commerce, serving as an Ambassador (Red Coat), receiving the 
				Ambassador of the Year Award in 2014. He was a member of the 
				Elks Lodge #914 and was Exalted Ruler in 1998/1999. He belonged 
				to the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #210; Ansar Shrine, Logan Shrine 
				Club, and Order of the Eastern Star. Other memberships included 
				Lincoln Rotary (Paul Harris Fellow), Sons of American Legion 
				Post #263, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2708, Toastmasters, 
				Lincoln Lions Club, Anchor Boat Club, Organizer of the Logan 
				County Chili Cook Off, Beason Sportsman’s Club, and Chestnut 
				Men’s Club.
 Doug was a certified Kansas City Barbeque Society Master Judge, 
				completing the requirements just this past summer.
 
 Doug was an avid NASCAR fan, Cubs Fan, and Bears Fan.
 
 He will be missed by his many friends and family.

				Lincoln Elk’s Lodge #914 Charitable Trust or Douglas D. DeMay 
				Memorial Fund.
