Mount Pulaski hosted Porta Thursday night at the Ed Butkovich
Gymnasium and despite 22 points from Skylar Hayes and a career
high of 20 points from Morgan May, the Lady Hilltoppers fell
56-49 to the Lady Blue Jays.
Megan Price led Porta with 27 points.
The tremendous effort from the Lady Hilltoppers was probably the
best thirty minutes of basketball the ladies played this year,
according to Assistant Coach Steve Hayes.
Mount Pulaski held a 16-14 lead at the end of one quarter of
play.
At the half Porta took the lead 33-31.
Mount Pulaski managed to tie the game 41-41 at the end of the
third quarter.
Porta outscored Mount Pulaski 15-8 in the final eight minutes
and that was the difference. Porta left town with the 56-49 win.
Mount Pulaski will host St. Teresa next week on Monday with the
Junior Varsity tip-off set for 6 p.m. and the Varsity scheduled
to start at 7:30 p.m.
