			Illinois, for our dinner lecture entitled, "On Safari With Peter 
			Niehaus: South Africa and its Animals." |

			 Come hear Peter Niehaus share his knowledge of the animals of 
			South Africa. Enjoy a choice of a hearty Tuscan vegetable soup and 
			salad dinner or a traditional dinner with two all-time South African 
			favorites. The full dinner includes a portion of mild Malay Chicken 
			Curry and Beef Bobotie accompanied by rice and the traditional 
			relishes and salads typically served with these dishes. A warm lemon 
			pudding follows, or as an alternative, vanilla ice cream topped with

			 Peter was born in Holland and as a child immigrated with his family 
			to South Africa where he lived for forty years. He has a degree in 
			mechanical engineering and worked in that field while having a 
			lifelong interest in the flora and fauna of Africa as well as the 
			sea life of the region. He is now an American citizen and resides in 
			Illinois where he focuses on the wild life and birds of the region 
			while continuing his interest in the animals of the African 
			continent..

2017 Elkhart Historical Society Calendars
 The 2017 calendars are available at both Horsefeathers and the Country Bumpkin 
in Elkhart, or can be mailed for a cost of $2. This year’s calendar which is in 
full color, features the photography of Nancy Saul, whose career as a 
photo-journalist for the Lincoln Courier, is well known. She, though officially 
retired, is actively involved in one of Logan County’s newest publications, 
“Bends and Byways” Magazine. Calendars are free to all new and renewing members 
of the Elkhart Historical Society, at a rate of $15 for Seniors (family) or $20 
for regular family. Be sure to get your copy of this beautiful calendar which 
focuses on scenes primarily in the Elkhart area.
