Jan 15 (The Sports Xchange) -
The NFL continues its investigation of Dallas Cowboys running back
Ezekiel Elliott related to the assault accusations made by his
ex-girlfriend over the summer.
The league has submitted follow-up questions to Elliott about the
claims made in July, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Elliott, 21, is still in the process of responding to the questions,
which he received within the past month, according to Sunday's ESPN
report. Any potential discipline from the NFL would be for the 2017
season.
Elliott, the league's leading rusher as a rookie, was accused of a
second domestic violence incident involving the woman, who said she
was hurt in a July argument.
Elliott, who was not arrested and did not face charges related to
the alleged incidents, said he was interviewed by the NFL during the
season. He insists he did nothing wrong.

The Atlanta Falcons lost veteran defensive end Adrian Clayborn for
the remainder of the playoffs after he suffered a torn biceps in the
36-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC divisional playoff
game on Saturday.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Clayborn was injured early in the game and
did not return after halftime.
Clayborn, in his second season with the Falcons, finished second on
the team with 4.5 sacks in 13 games. He missed three games because
of a knee injury.

Devin Hester's brief stay with the Seahawks is over -- and it
appears he's ready to call it a career.
The top kick returner in NFL history is set to retire after the
Seahawks were eliminated by the Falcons.
"I told my wife this is pretty much my last year," Hester said after
the game. "I was hoping for a run to the Super Bowl."
If that was Hester's last game, he was impressive. He ran back five
kickoffs for 194 yards, including a 78-yarder, and had an 80-yard
punt return negated by a penalty in the Seahawks' 36-20 loss.
The 34-year-old holds NFL records for total career kick returns for
touchdowns with 20, career punt returns for touchdowns with 14 and
returns for touchdowns in a season with six.

Packers cornerback Damarious Randall was active, but fellow corner
Quinten Rollins missed the playoff game against the Cowboys.
[to top of second column] |
Randall was a late-week addition to the injury report as
questionable with a foot problem.
Rollins was placed in the concussion protocol after he sustained a
neck injury in the regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions
on Jan. 1 and did not play in last Sunday's wild-card playoff win
over the New York Giants.
He was limited in practice this week and listed as questionable on
Friday's injury report.

Packers star wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who already was ruled out
for the playoff game against Dallas with cracked ribs, hopes to play
next week if his team advances to the NFC title game.
Nelson told NFL Network his biggest goal right now is to get back to
normal breathing.
"It's a pain no one wants to feel," Nelson said Sunday.
Nelson has been sidelined because of cracked ribs he sustained in
last Sunday's 38-13 wild-card playoff win over the New York Giants.
Nelson traveled with the team to Dallas and will be re-evaluated by
team doctors on Monday.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer doesn't know when Teddy
Bridgewater will return in 2017 as the quarterback recovers from a
torn ACL and left knee dislocation.
Zimmer told ESPN on Sunday that the 24-year-old Bridgewater will
return the "middle of the year, beginning of the year or end of the
year."
Bridgewater was injured during a non-contact drill at practice on
Aug. 30, ending his 2016 season.
"We don't know when Teddy will be back," Zimmer said Sunday.
Bridgewater completed 292 of 447 passes for 3,231 yards with 14
touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2015 to lead the Vikings to an
NFC North title and garner a Pro Bowl bid. (Editing by Larry Fine)
