[January 21, 2017]  MOUNT PULASKI - Robert A. “Bob” Cowan Sr., 83, passed away at 7:58 p.m. on January 15, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center of Springfield.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday January 19, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday January 20, 2017 at Latham Baptist Church

Obituary

Robert A. “Bob” Cowan Sr., 83, passed away at 7:58 p.m. on January 15, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center of Springfield.

Bob was born on November 1, 1933 in Warrensburg, son of Harry and Velma (Schroeder) Cowan. He married Dorothy Jean Hupp in 1951 in Mechanicsburg. She survives him.

Also surviving Bob are his children: Robert (Nancy) Cowan of Springfield, Randy (Paula) Cowan of Spaulding, Scott (Debby) Cowan of Dawson, Michael (Melinda) Cowan of Beason, Wayne (Ann) Cowan of Lexington, KY, and Christopher (Amy) Cowan of Mount Pulaski, one sister: Carolyn (Ted) Roth of Williamsville, 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Bob was a graduate of Tri-City High School, member of Latham Baptist Church since 1945, Lake Fork Township Board for 28 years, Church board for 55 years, Sunday School Teacher for 30 years, School Board for 22 years, 8 years being president, leader of the Land of Lincoln Antique Tractor and Engine Club President from 2000-2012, and National JICCA Board from 2005-2013.

Services for Bob will be 10:30 a.m. Friday January 20, 2017 at Latham Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Morgan officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday January 19, 2017 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Burial at Lake Bank Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be made in Robert’s name to Latham Baptist Church, Land of Lincoln Antique Tractor and Engine Club, or Navajo Ministries.
