[January 21, 2017]  WAYNESVILLE - Jerry Lee Lowery, 64, of Waynesville, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at his home.

Service: Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.

A celebration of life will immediately follow the services, and will be held at the Waynesville American Legion Post 1189

Obituary

Jerry Lee Lowery, 64, of Waynesville, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at his home.

Graveside services for Mr. Lowery will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Dave Taylor will officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the service at the Waynesville American Legion Post #1189.

Jerry Lee Lowery was born December 16, 1952, in Bloomington, the son of Robert E. and Loraine I. Woosley Lowery. He married Wanda Ogg in Waynesville on December 2, 1972. She survives.

Jerry Lee is also survived by their daughters: Erin (John) Roesch, Erica (Kenny) Benoit, Justine (Caleb) Garey, and Jade (Zach) Rickord, all of Waynesville; five grandchildren: Bailey (Frankie) Boyd, Bowen Benoit, Tucker Garey, Ryder Garey, and Averlee Rickord; two sisters: Kathy Evans of Clinton and Ruthie (Randy) Price of Bloomington; and one brother: David (Traci) Lowery of Waynesville.

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry Lee was a graduate of McLean-Waynesville-Armington High School. He was a Cement Mason with Local 152 and had worked as a General Contractor for over 30 years. He was a charter member of the Waynesville Sons of the Legion Post #1189.

Jerry loved hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family and canine companions, Delilah, Sophie, Hope, J.R., and Winston. He loved to garden and loved his flowers.

Memorials may be made to an Education Fund for his grandchildren.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
