[January 25, 2017]    Jan 24 (The Sports Xchange) - The family of Yordano Ventura is requesting that Dominican Republic authorities investigate whether the Kansas City Royals pitcher was robbed of cash and his World Series ring as he lay dying at the scene of Sunday's fatal car accident.

Ventura, 25, crashed his vehicle while driving on a foggy mountain road.

The San Francisco Giants and catcher Nick Hundley agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract, the team announced.

Hundley will serve as the backup to standout Buster Posey.

The 33-year-old batted .260 with 10 homers and 48 RBIs for the Colorado Rockies last season. (Editing by Andrew Both)
