Mount Pulaski boys defeat Riverton 54-46

[January 28, 2017]    It’s been a while since the Mount Pulaski boys basketball team have beaten Riverton. But Friday night in front of a large crowd at home the Hilltoppers handed the Hawks a 54-46 loss.

 

Mount Pulaski led 13-12 at the end of one quarter of play and by halftime they had extended that lead to 23-17.

Much to the delight of fans, the Hilltoppers continued to add to the lead, 37-26 was the score at the end of the third quarter.

The Hawks put up 20 points in the fourth quarter but Mount Pulaski managed to hold on for the 54-46 win.

Mount Pulaski was led by Peyton Taylor and Lukas Aylesworth with 14 points apiece and Seth Huff contributed 11 points.

The Hilltoppers next game is Tuesday night at Tri-City.
