New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will try his hand as an author after many years of rewriting the NFL's record book.

Book publisher Simon & Schuster announced Thursday that it has acquired the rights to a strength training and nutrition book by Brady that will be called "The TB 12 Method: How To Achieve A Lifetime Of Sustained Peak Performance."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed for the 320-page book, which is expected to be released in September. The hardcover version will cost $29.99, while an eBook will be $14.99.

"We expect this book to become an essential source for the way athletes of all ages live and train, whether they are in high school or in retirement," said Jonathan Karp, president and publisher of Simon & Schuster. "The fact that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time gives him the authority to write this book -- but the fact that the principles that he's espousing go well beyond sports is one of the reasons readers are going to pay close attention to his message."

The book is also expected to include "step-by-step action steps" designed for readers to use to increase their own productivity in a way similar to the 39-year-old Brady.

A five-time Super Bowl champion, Brady has made it clear that he has no immediate plans to retire and wants to keep playing into his mid-40s.

Brady threw for a Super Bowl-record 466 yards, two touchdowns and one interception en route to New England's improbable 34-28 overtime victory versus the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year. The four-time Super Bowl MVP Award winner broke, tied or extended nine Super Bowl records with the performance.
