vehicle crash in Christian County Thursday

- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by
Illinois State Police District 9:
WHAT: Personal Injury crash
WHERE: IL 48 Southbound, CR 1900E
WHEN: Thursday, 07/13/2017 3:10 p.m.
VEHICLES:
(Unit 1) 2005 International Truck Tractor/Grain Trailer
(Unit 2) 2013 Scion TC
(Unit 3) 2016 Chrysler Town and Country
DRIVERS:
(Unit 1) David C. Trail, 74 year old male, Lincoln,
Illinois
(Unit 2) Samuel L. Walton, 36 year old male, Taylorville, Illinois
(Unit 3) Brenda J. Graham, 57 year old female, Stonington, Illinois.

PRELIMINARY: The Chrysler, Scion, and International Truck
Tractor Semi Trailer were traveling southbound on IL 48 approaching the
intersection of Christian County Road 1900E. The driver of the Chrysler
activated the vehicle’s left turn signal and began slowing in an attempt to turn
left onto CR 1900 E. The driver of the Scion reduced his vehicle’s speed as the
Chrysler slowed to turn. The driver of the International truck tractor
semi-trailer failed to reduce his vehicle’s speed and struck the rear of Scion,
which in turn struck the rear of the Chrysler. The driver of the Scion was
transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
