Senators center Jean-Gabriel Pageau avoided arbitration by agreeing
to a three-year, $9.3 million contract, the team announced Monday.
Pageau will make $2.6 million in the first year, $3.3 million in the
second and $3.4 in the third. His arbitration hearing had been set
for July 28.

The Philadelphia Flyers signed center Nolan Patrick, the No. 2
overall pick in last month's NHL draft, to a three-year, entry-level
contract.
The deal is worth a reported $2.775 million with an annual
salary-cap hit of $925,000.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell announced his
retirement after 17 seasons in the NHL.
Campbell will join the Blackhawks' front office in the business
operations department, assisting with various marketing, community
relations and youth hockey initiatives, the team announced.

Nashville Predators forward Frederick Gaudreau signed
a three-year contract, the team announced.
The contract is a two-way deal in 2017-18 and 2018-19, worth
$650,000 at the NHL level and $70,000 at the American Hockey League
level. The contract then becomes a one-way deal in 2019-20 worth
$700,000.

New Buffalo Sabres coach Phil Housley hired Chris Hajt to serve as
one of his assistants, the team announced.
Hajt, 39, spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach for the
Los Angeles Kings' American Hockey League affiliate. When the Kings'
AHL affiliate was the Manchester Monarchs, he helped guide them to a
Calder Cup championship after the 2014-15 season. The team also made
the playoffs in each of the last two seasons as the Ontario Reign,
