Three
local women earn Zonta Scholarships

LINCOLN
- The Zonta Club of Lincoln selected Katelyn Tuttle of Lincoln,
Julia Beccue of Mount Pulaski, and Katlyn Jo Helton of Middletown as
recipients of the 2016-2017 Zonta Women’s Career Scholarship, an
award for women accepted into or currently enrolled in a
professional curriculum at an accredited institution.

Scholarship winners are selected based on merit,
activities, leadership, honors, and awards.
Katelyn Tuttle plans to attend Heartland Community
College to study Social Work and Psychology.
Julia Beccue plans to attend the University of
Illinois to become a physician.
Katlyn Helton was selected as the 2017 Young Women in Public Affairs
(YWPA) Award recipient.

The goal of the Zonta International Young Women in
Public Affairs (YWPA) Program is to encourage more young women to
participate in public affairs by recognizing a commitment to the
volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and
a dedication to the advancement of the status of women.
Katlyn plans to attend Eureka College in Eureka, to
major in biology and eventually continue on to Medical School to
become a Pediatrician.
