“Water Fun” comes to 3rd Fridays Downtown this week

[July 20, 2017]   LINCOLN - The “3rd Fridays Downtown” looks to beat the heat in July with “Water Fun”, which will take place on Friday, July 21st between the hours of 5:30pm and 8:30pm.

This month’s event offers two inflatable water slides, water related games, and a dunk tank where you can dunk several local celebrities, including Mayor Goodman. We’ll also have plenty of fire department equipment on hand for this month’s “Touch a Truck.”

Other activities include giant versions of popular games such as Jenga and Connect Four.

Spirited Republic, Alley-Bi Saloon, and Steffens Landscaping are also sponsoring a blind draw bags tournament where advanced players will team up with novice players. The cost is $5 per person with prizes awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.

Dinner options for the family include Sorrento’s pizza by the slice for $1, Mama’s Arcade cheeseburgers for $2, Alley-Bi Saloon cheeseburgers, as well as a variety of affordable food options from Flossie and Delzena’s. And for dessert, stop by the Culvers booth who will be serving cups of frozen custard!

This month’s musical entertainment includes performances by Dale J. Gordon, Stick People, and State Parks.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by tents of the numerous non-profit organizations that will be available during the event and to also patronize those downtown businesses that will be offering specials.
