ATLANTA
- For the second year, Eminence Church of rural Atlanta is hosting
and sponsoring a Back to School Fair on August 2nd at the Atlanta
City Park.
|
The fair starts at 3 p.m. and will wrap up around 6
p.m.
Included in the afternoon will be fun activities for kids, and free
hot dogs!
The event is also designed to help out parents with the needs they
have at the beginning of the school year. Children will be able to
receive a back to school backpack and school supplies, and also a
free haircut.
A local barber and a hairdresser will be on hand to offer cuts or
trims, so kids will look their very best for that first day of
school.
The Eminence Church and the community welcome all youngsters to
attend.

In the first year of the Back to
School Fair, 68 backpacks were handed out to children, and about
40 haircuts were given. This year, the church is expecting the
event to be even larger, and have added some new attractions for
the fun part of the afternoon.
The program is sponsored by the church. Several times a year the
church holds fundraisers to support the program, and this year
they also received a grant from the Atlanta Betterment Fund. In
addition, several others volunteer to help make the evening a
success, including the barber and hairdresser who volunteer
their time and talents, with much appreciation from the church.
