CLEVELAND -- Edwin Encarnacion's grand
slam in the 11th inning capped a wild night as the Cleveland
Indians, after blowing an early seven-run lead, rallied to beat the
Los Angeles Angels 11-7 on Tuesday.
Bradley Zimmer, whose grand slam highlighted a seven-run Cleveland
second inning, led off the bottom of the 11th by drawing a walk from
Bud Norris (1-3). Zimmer stole second base, then went to third when
Norris walked Francisco Lindor but threw a wild pitch on ball four.
Michael Brantley was intentionally walked, loading the bases, and
Encarnacion hit Norris' first pitch into the left field bleachers
for the walk-off grand slam. The designated hitter's 21st homer of
the year gave the Indians their fifth consecutive victory.
Los Angeles, which trailed 7-0 after two innings, scored four runs
in the third and two in the fifth. The Angels tied the game in the
sixth inning on Yunel Escobar's RBI double.
Mariners 6, Red Sox 5 (13 innings)
SEATTLE -- Jean Segura's infield single scored the winning run in
the bottom of the 13th inning as Seattle handed Boston its
season-high fourth straight loss.
With the Mariners trailing 5-4 and one out in the bottom of the
13th, Mitch Haniger drew a walk from Doug Fister (0-5), and Ben
Gamel hit into a fielder's choice. Guillermo Heredia fouled off a
couple two-strike pitches before lining a single to right field,
with Gamel taking third. Gamel then scored the tying run on a wild
pitch, with Heredia advancing from first to third.
Segura then hit a chopper up the middle that shortstop Xander
Bogaerts fielded. Bogaerts tried to make an off-balance throw to
first, but it wasn't nearly in time to get the speedy Segura.
Yankees 4, Reds 2
NEW YORK -- Todd Frazier experienced a memorable Yankee Stadium
debut, hitting into a run-scoring triple play as New York held off
Cincinnati.
New York scored its next three runs in more conventional ways. Aaron
Judge singled and scored on Didi Gregorius' sacrifice fly to right
in the fourth, Austin Romine lined an RBI double to right in the
fifth, and Gregorius hit a home run in the eighth.
The Yankees' Jordan Montgomery (7-5) lost his no-hit bid two pitches
into the sixth inning when Scott Schebler lined a double to center
field. Montgomery gave up one run on two hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Cardinals 3, Rockies 2
ST. LOUIS -- Jedd Gyorko's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth
inning lifted St. Louis over Chicago.
Harrison Bader started the winning rally with his first big league
hit, a double to left off Jake McGee (0-1). After Greg Garcia bunted
Bader to third, Gyorko pinch-hit and lofted a fly ball to shallow
right.
Carlos Gonzalez made the catch and unleashed an accurate throw home,
but catcher Ryan Hanigan couldn't handle the short hop as Bader slid
home with the winning run. Trevor Rosenthal (3-4) hurled two
scoreless innings in relief for the victory.
Dodgers 6, Twins 2
LOS ANGELES -- Chris Taylor doubled twice for his seventh multi-hit
performance in his past eight games and drove in three runs as Los
Angeles won its fourth straight game.

hits, and Joc Pederson scored two runs as the Dodgers improved to
35-6 since June 6. Kenta Maeda (9-4) limited Minnesota to two runs
(one earned) in five innings.
Twins All-Star third baseman Miguel Sano was scratched from the
starting lineup about a half-hour before the first pitch but later
struck out as a pinch hitter. Sano was hit on the left wrist by a
pitch from Josh Fields on Monday night.
Cubs 7, White Sox 2
CHICAGO -- Ben Zobrist reached base four times -- including his
500th career extra-base hit -- to help the Cubs defeat the White
Sox.
Zobrist went 3-for-4 with two doubles plus a walk and an RBI.

homer, his 16th of the season.

coming off the disabled list with a successful five-plus inning
outing. The White Sox's Carlos Rodon (1-4) suffered his third
straight loss.

it cracked three home runs off Edwin Jackson en route to a rout of
Washington.

League after allowing three hits while striking out seven in 7 2/3
innings, his longest outing of the year. He helped the Brewers win
for only the second time in nine games.
After missing a home run by inches earlier in his fourth-inning
at-bat, Travis Shaw straightened one out and deposited a 1-2 pitch
over the wall in center for his 23rd homer of the season and a 5-0
Milwaukee advantage. Eric Thames and Mann Pina also went deep.
Astros 5, Phillies 0
PHILADELPHIA -- Rookie Derek Fisher, freshly recalled from Triple-A,
jumped right into the starting lineup and came up with a key two-run
single to help Houston defeat Philadelphia.
Fisher went 1-for-3 with a walk, upping his average to .286 in his
first 21 career major league at-bats. He also made two terrific
catches in center in the first two innings. The only blemish was
getting caught stealing after his only hit.

shutout innings against the club he pitched four games for last year
before a hamstring injury cost him the remainder of the 2016 season.

inning then didn't get another hit until the eighth in its victory
over Baltimore.

previous six starts this season. Bumgarner limited the Pirates to

his final game with San Francisco.

four at-bats. He had three RBIs and two runs. Seth Lugo (5-2) got

Rangers 10, Marlins 4
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Joey Gallo launched two of Texas' four home runs
in a rout of Miami.
The Rangers' power surge backed a solid showing from Cole Hamels
(5-1), who bounced back from his first loss of the season. The
left-hander worked six innings, giving up four runs and six hits
while striking out five and walking two.
Gallo upped his team-high home run total to 25 with his second

of their last 11 at the Rogers Centre.

Jay, allowed five hits, one walk, one run and struck out four in his
second start of the season. His first start was for Oakland on April
20. The Blue Jays claimed Valdez off waivers on May 5.
