Obituary
William P. "Bill" Downs, 85, of Lincoln, passed away
at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
Graveside services for Mr. Downs will be held on
Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion
Cemetery in Lincoln. Rev. Charles Olander will
officiate.
William Paul Downs was born December 24, 1931, in
Lincoln, the son of Marshall and LaVeta Buesking
Downs. He married Betty Jo Sheley. She preceded him
in death.
Bill was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School
and served in the United States Army. He had been
employed by CILCO as a tree trimmer. |
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in
Lincoln.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley
Funeral Home of Lincoln.
