St. Lucie is the Mets' third-highest ranked
minor league affiliate.
The 29-year-old Tebow is batting .222 with three home runs, 23
RBIs, a .311 on-base percentage and a .340 slugging percentage
in 63 games for the Columbia Fireflies. He has 69 strikeouts and
23 walks in 212 at-bats.
Tebow was scheduled to play in his final game Sunday for
Columbia, before reporting to St. Lucie on Tuesday.
"It's not like he's tearing up the league, but at the same time
all of the indications are positive in terms of various things
we look at -- chase rates and exit velocity," Mets general
manager Sandy Alderson told reporters Sunday. "The bottom line
is the average isn't there, but he's improving."

The Milwaukee Brewers claimed catcher Stephen Vogt off waivers
after he was designated for assignment by the Oakland Athletics.
Vogt, 32, was batting .217 with four home runs and 20 RBIs in 54
games with the A's this season when was designated for
assignment on Thursday.
Vogt was a two-time American League All-Star with the Athletics
(2015-16), hitting .261 with 18 home runs and 71 RBIs in 2015
and .251 with 14 homers and 56 RBIs in 2016.

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Franklin Gutierrez on
the 10-day disabled list, the team announced.
Gutierrez's gastrointestinal/autoimmune and arthritic condition
has affected his hips and lower body that cost him the 2014
season. Gutierrez, 34, is batting .232 with one home run and
eight RBIs in 35 games in his first season with the Dodgers this
season.
The Dodgers also recalled up infielder/outfielder Mike Freeman
from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take the roster spot.

Chicago White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon has rejoined the team
and appears ready to make his first start of the season this
week after being sidelined due to left biceps bursitis.
Manager Rick Renteria said a return date is not set but Rodon
likely will start on the current homestand. The White Sox open a
four-game series against the New York Yankees on Monday.
Rodon is 18-16 with a 3.90 ERA in 54 games (51 starts) over two
