The Edmonton Oilers signed forward Zack Kassian to a three-year
contract extension.
The deal is worth a reported $5.85 million.
Kassian, 26, appeared in 79 games with the Oilers last season,
posting 24 points (seven goals, 17 assists) and 101 penalty minutes.
He also recorded three goals and 27 penalty minutes in 13 playoff
games.
Kassian has 98 points (45 goals, 53 assists) and 522 penalty minutes
in 313 career NHL games.

The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Esa Lindell to a two-year,
$4.4-million contract extension.
The Stars also announced the signing of forward Mark McNeill to a
one-year, two-way contract extension.
Lindell, 23, posted 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 73 games
for Dallas during 2016-17.
McNeill, 24, appeared in one game for Dallas last season, recording
one shot on goal and one blocked shot. He split the majority of the
season between Rockford and Texas of the AHL.

The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed defenseman Andrej Sustr to a
one-year, $1.95 million contract.
The Lightning also re-signed forward Yanni Gourde to a two-year,
one-way contract worth $1 million per season.
Sustr, 26, played in 80 games with the Lightning in 2016-17,
recording 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) and 43 penalty
minutes.
The Plzen, Czech Republic, native also played in six games for his
country at the 2016 World Cup, netting one goal.
Gourde, 25, skated in 20 games with the Lightning during the 2016-17
season, posting six goals and two assists.

The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with forward Derek Ryan, 30,
on a one-year contract.
The deal will pay Ryan $1.425 million for the 2017-18 season, the
team announced.
"Derek proved he belonged in the NHL last season," Hurricanes
general manager Ron Francis said in a statement. "He brings skill
and versatility to our lineup and sets an example for our younger
players with his character and determination off the ice."

Ryan established NHL career highs in goals (11),
assists (18) and points (29) in 2016-17.

The Buffalo Sabres signed defenseman Taylor Fedun to
a two-year, two-way contract.
Fedun, 29, appeared in 27 games with the Sabres last season,
recording a career-high seven points with seven assists.
Sabres general manager Jason Botterill also announced the hiring of
Randy Sexton and Steve Greeley to serve as assistant GMs. Sexton
also will be the general manager of the Sabres' AHL affiliate in
Rochester.

The Anaheim Ducks signed defenseman Korbinian Holzer to a two-year
contract extension through the 2018-19 season.
Holzer, 29, owns 19 points (four goals, 15 assists) and 88 penalty
minutes in 119 career NHL games with the Ducks and Toronto Maple
Leafs.
Holzer, acquired from the Maple Leafs in March 2015, made his debut
in the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2017, going scoreless with 18 penalty
minutes in five postseason games.
The Munich, Germany, native was selected by Toronto in the fourth
round of the 2006 NHL draft.

Minnesota Wild and restricted free-agent defenseman Gustav Olofsson
agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.45 million contract, the team
announced.
Olofsson, the second-round selection of the Wild in the 2013 NHL
draft, will receive $675,000 in 2017-18 and $775.000 in 2018-19.
The 22-year-old Swede had three assists and two penalty minutes in
13 games with Minnesota last season.
